VaultSort 5.6.1

RedactionPDF

Redact a Document no longer refuses to save some PDFs with a message that a rasterised page does not match the original.

Bug Fixes

  • Saving a redacted PDF no longer fails with "rasterised page … does not match the original". With Maximum safety on, or on pages VaultSort turns into images to redact them safely, some ordinary PDFs, especially pages of small or dense text, couldn't be saved. VaultSort's final check was being too strict about tiny differences in how text edges are drawn. It now compares each page the way it was actually made, so these documents save normally, and the check still refuses a page that is missing, misplaced or upside down. Your redactions were never at risk: when the check failed, nothing was saved. (If a save failed for you on 5.6.0, try it again after updating.)
  • Clearer diagnostics when a redaction can't be saved. VaultSort's debug log now records the reason the redaction stopped, with names and numbers masked, so support can help without needing your document.
