VaultSort 5.7.0-beta.91
Secure Delete
Securely deleting a large folder no longer stalls at 100% with every file still in place, and no longer leaves later deletes failing with a Too many open files error.
Bug Fixes
- Secure Delete no longer stalls on large folders. Securely deleting a folder with a few hundred files could reach 100% and then stop, leaving every file in place, and VaultSort would have to be force-quit. Afterwards, further secure deletes failed with a "Too many open files" error. VaultSort's helper was holding a connection open for every file it processed, so a large folder used them all up. It now releases them as it goes, and folders of any size complete. (If you hit this error on an earlier version, restart your Mac once so the helper starts fresh.)
- A clearer message if the helper ever runs short. If the helper does run out of open files, the error now says so and tells you to restart VaultSort or your Mac, instead of reading like a permissions problem.
